Free Flu Shots at All OCCHD Clinics

Oklahoma City-County Health Department epidemiologists have confirmed six more flu deaths in the past week, all of which were over the age of 65. The flu hospitalizations are up by 58 to 514 patients in Oklahoma County.

Free flu shots are available at all three convenient clinic locations to those beginning at six months and up. Oklahoma City and County residents are still being encouraged to protect themselves, their families and help prevent the spread of the flu by receiving their vaccine.

“Getting your flu shot can reduce flu symptoms, missed school and work and prevent flu-related hospitalizations. Receiving your vaccination if you are healthy helps prevent the spread to our vulnerable citizens and is especially important for higher risk populations including ages 1 to 5 and over age 65,” says Kerri Stewart, Clinical Administrator.
