Food Protection Classes and Training
The inspectors at the OKC-County Health Department offer various types of classes and training to our licensed establishments. Training is offered free of charge and attempts are made to conduct the training at the convenience of the facility. Training can be offered on-site at the requesting establishment or at a location determined by the parties involved. Some examples of training offered are:
- Food safety and sanitation
- Swimming pool safety
- Good hygiene
- Childcare food safety
- What to expect from your inspection
- Foodborne illness
- Special events
Training is catered to meet the needs of your establishment and your employees. Training can be conducted as a classroom style training with handouts, PowerPoint presentation, etc., or can be presented as a hands-on training in the facility.
Food Handler Training
Food Handler Training of all employees is not required in Oklahoma County or the municipalities contained within Oklahoma County. Currently only Food Manager Training is required. If your facility or organization is interested in basic Food Safety Training, we can conduct a basic training for your group.
