The Total Wellness program provides education for Oklahoma County residents in prevention of diabetes, heart disease, cancer, and asthma. The program provides free screenings to class participants.
Screenings include:
- Blood pressure check
- Height
- Weight
- Blood glucose
- Consultation with a dietitian
Knowledgeable staff are available to review screening results with participants. Referrals are then made to appropriate health care facilities as well as community resources if needed.
Total Wellness classes are offered at no charge to Oklahoma County residents. Classes provide information and tools to help participants learn how to prevent or delay the onset of chronic diseases.
The classes focus on:
- Dietary changes and making healthier choices
- Increasing physical activity
- Reducing body weight
- Creating a balance between diet and physical activity
- Developing new healthy lifestyle habits
Classes meet for one hour a week for 12 weeks and are offered 3 times a year. Participants are encouraged to set goals of losing 5% of their body weight and becoming active for 2.5 hours each week.

The Total Wellness program has joined forces with the Mayor’s million pound weight loss challenge. Please visit the OKC Million website and log your weight loss and physical activity progress.
