Family Planning Services helps prevent unplanned pregnancies. Emphasis is placed on helping to reduce the teen pregnancy rate. Services are provided to assist families and individuals to plan and space their children and these services are available to both women and men.
The Family Planning Clinic is staffed by experienced Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners specializing in family planning with consultation by OB/GYN physicians from the OU Medical Center.
Pregnancy Prevention Methods Available
- Condoms
- Birth control pills
- Patches
- Depo Provera
- Nuva Ring
- Diaphragms
- Spermicide
- IUDs
- Cycle beads
- Abstinence counseling
- Information/referrals for vasectomy, tubal ligation, Implanon, and natural family planning
- Plan B is available for EMERGENCY CONTRACEPTION ONLY
Payment
Fees are based on ability to pay per a sliding scale. Family Planning Waiver Medicaid (SoonerPlan) is available to those who qualify to assist financially for exams, supplies, pregnancy testing, etc. for both men and women 19 and over. Applications can be completed online prior to your visit. Assistance may be provided if needed when you come in for services.
Appointments
We have both walk-in services and appointments available. Please call (405) 419-4150 for appointments and information.
Services for clients with appointments for exams and follow-up visits as needed:
- Physical exams and checkups for men and women including: Pap smear for cancer screening, exams to detect infections, such as Chlamydia, and other STIs.
- HIV and RPR (for Syphilis) screening
- Breast exams and referrals for mammograms when needed
- Education and counseling provided by RNs, Nurse Practitioners, and Social Workers
Services for clients on a walk-in basis:
- Pregnancy testing
- Emergency contraception
- Early Start (for a limited number of supplies)
