Immunizations are one of the most important public health interventions in history. Through the use of vaccinations, millions of lives have been saved and millions of cases of disease have been prevented. Immunizations not only positively impact the health of the individual receiving the vaccination, but also the community.
Immunization Services
OCCHD is dedicated to provide immunization services against vaccine preventable diseases to the citizens of Oklahoma County. Vaccinations are provided at no charge to children who qualify for the Vaccines for Children Program. In addition, The Oklahoma Caring Van Program is a mobile immunization initiative that delivers vaccines at no cost to children at child care centers, schools, and community locations that are convenient for low-income families.
Immunization Field Consultants (IFC) provide immunization education to groups including but not limited to childcare centers, physicians, schools, churches, and group homes. Please contact an IFC to arrange for group presentations.
IFC’s also work in the community providing immunization quality assurance at physicians’ offices, training for nurses, and reviews of childcare centers.
Locations
In our efforts to increase accessibility to vaccination services in Oklahoma County, OCCHD offers several vaccination locations across our county. The main OCCHD immunization clinic is located in the facility at 921 N.E. 23rd St., Oklahoma City, OK, 73105. Immunization services are offered at this location Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. and Wednesdays 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Immunization clinical services are not available on Fridays. The clinic is not closed during the lunch hour and appointments are not required for general immunizations. Immunization clinics are also located throughout Oklahoma County.
Immunizations are available to children and adults. We strongly recommend that you bring your current immunization record with you when you come to our clinics to receive vaccination services. This gives the staff the opportunity to make sure any immunizations given are appropriate and up-to-date. If you or your child have ever received immunization through our county health department and you need a copy of that record, you may request a copy of your record by calling (405) 425-4450. For additional information, contact OCCHD at (405) 425-4450. You may also email us at immunizations@occhd.org.
