Oklahoma is the only state in America to offer comprehensive family support and parenting services through the health department! OCCHD Child Guidance has been serving families of Oklahoma County for over 50 years. We continue to adjust our service delivery according to the needs of our community.

Child Guidance is a public health program within the Oklahoma City-County Health Department. Its purpose is to promote optimal development, healthy behavior and effective interaction for families & children.

  • Speech-Language Pathology Services

The Child Guidance Clinic includes Speech-Language Pathology, Hearing, Developmental and Behavioral Health services. Services target children ages Birth through 12 years of age and their families who reside in Oklahoma County. Services are provided by a staff of professional Speech-Language Pathologists, Child Development Specialists and Psychological Clinicians.

There are no eligibility requirements; any parent in Oklahoma County is encouraged to use Child Guidance as a resource. Any fees for services are based according to a sliding scale and ability to pay. No person will be denied services for inability to pay. Medicaid is accepted. Child Guidance also offers workshops/groups and trainings to childcare facilities.

All appointments and enrollments in workshops or groups are scheduled through the main Child Guidance Clinic facility at (405)425-4412.
