OCCHD is governed by a Board of Health created under the authority of Oklahoma Statute Title 63, Section 1-210. This board meets once a month. Nine members serve on a volunteer basis for a six-year term. The Mayor of Oklahoma City appoints five members, and the Board of County Commissioners of Oklahoma County appoints four members.
