Senior Services

Senior Services offers a variety of programs to help adults 18 years and up maintain and improve their health and wellbeing.  Our focus is on protecting Oklahoma County residents from health threats and assisting them to adopt healthful lifestyles.

 

PROGRAMS

Diabetes Prevention and Outreach Program (DPOP)

  • Free health screening for Oklahoma County residents 18 years and older

  • Screening will include blood pressure, height, weight, blood glucose and cholesterol

  • Knowledgeable staff available to review screening results

  • Education provided

  • Referrals to community resources as needed

  • Free classes provide health and weight lose education necessary to PREVENT diabetes

Learning to Live with Chronic Conditions

Sheltered in Population Emergency
Preparedness Plan (SIP)

One of the main responsibilities of the Senior Services Division is the maintenance, exercising, and adaptation of the sheltered-in-population plan as a component of the OCCHD’s Emergency Preparedness plan.

  • Focus is to identify facilities/agencies, as well as community partners, that house and /or care for the sheltered-in-population in Oklahoma County
  • The plan also encompasses the homebound population living in Oklahoma County

Senior Services is constantly seeking to identify facilities and/or agencies that meet SIP criteria to become a SIP community partner.  If you think you may meet SIP criteria to become a community partner, please call Mary at (405) 419-4170.
