Students Working Against Tobacco (SWAT), a youth led organization, the mission of SWAT is “to resist and expose Big Tobacco’s lies while changing current attitudes about tobacco.” Whether in movie theaters, convenience stores, sporting events, or schools, SWAT is there to create and defend a generation against tobacco.

Tobacco industry quotes….

“We were targeting kids, and I said at the time it was unethical and maybe illegal but I was told it was just company policy.” T. Sullivan, sales rep., R.J. Reynolds, 1990

“They represent tomorrow’s cigarette business…as this 14-24 age group matures, they will account for a key share of the total cigarette volume – for at least 25 years.” R.J. Reynolds, 1974

“Moreover, nicotine is addictive…We are then in the business of selling nicotine, an addictive drug…”  Addison Yeaman; General Counsel to Brown and Williamson Tobacco Company’ 1963
